Ramming speed.
A small upgrade of hard disk drive in my Dual Core Macbook [macbook5,1] occurred today.
I removed a 500GB Seagate Momentus 5400.6 and replaced with a 128GB Kingston ssdNOW v-series.
For future reference, edification and to up my geek credentials, I present a small example from XBench.

Result?
One-hundred-and-eleventy-billion times more awesome. The macbook boots rapidly and is freaking me out by actually launching applications virtually instantaneously.
Averaged out it’s approximately 80% faster in Sequential access, but a brain-numbing 10+ times faster in the more usual “go find random files, ‘n shit” test.
